New Blood Interactive - Loading Icon Fan Animation

I used Blender 2.8 to make this animation.

Animation Explanation
This animation is supposed to be looped for loading into a game level.

Creation Process

I started out with a Plane then used Edge-Extrusion modelling to make the shape of the logo from a reference image.

I added a Cube in the centre of the logo and expanded is out to be just over how big the logo is. Added the colour pallet of black and red.
For the Cube I resized it to 0.32m width and 2.4m height and length.

Next the Animation, I started with 30 frames per second with 65 frames in total. It starts spinning 360 degrees at frame 1 and ends at frame 46 the rest is still. I chose to render at 512x512 as it would be used for multiple screen sizes.

Afterwards the Lighting, I added 2 Directional Lights one at the top diagonal facing towards the logo, and one facing dead on the logo.

This is to represent the sheen that the original logo has.
I set the camera so that the logo spins as close to the camera's edges.

To help with the Shiny-ness on the logo I added a Bevel shader onto the material.


Finally Rendering, I chose to use to output as FFmpeg video as its mostly used and is compressed, encoded with h.264 mpeg-4. Bitrate was set to Constant bitrate with the avg. bitrate being 5000 and the maximum being 8000.
